Ember is a great horse! She is 12 and 14.3 hands. Looks like a Mustang cross to us. Is very sturdy and sound, had shots and trims. Ready for a special relationship to take her to her new career as a riding companion. (Has been a broodmare) She does like the trails and is willing to do arena work as well. She goes barefoot on the trails. She needs an experienced horse person as she will try to be dominant in a herd and does fuss at times but has been in many herds and settles in.

Update Jan 2013: We took her out on the trail this past weekend and she was great!  She was quiet, calm and responsive.  Didn't like the dumpsters or the white barricades in the campground but a few minutes of schooling solved that.  She handled herself very well up and down hills, including a very slippery one that frightened the other young horse we were training.   Amber went through puddles and streams, over logs and across the bridges with no hesitation. She did both the fire roads and the single tracks.   The only place she balked was a deep bog, but no panic - just refused to continue.   She will walk, trot & canter in the arena but still needs work on the canter - she sometimes will give a little kick out when the rider applies their leg hard to get her going.   However she is more than ready for a new home.  She would be great for an intermediate rider but probably OK for an advanced beginner working with a trainer or experienced rider.

Must know how to provide strong leadership with this girl - then she will love you forever!

Above all things....Amber loves water. She kicks over her water bucket cause she knows her trainer will spray her when he fills it. She is a very smart cookie!

Amber can be a real cuddle muffin if you take the time to know her....
