Home At Last
Brandy at her 6 month check up at Nicole G and family in Sebastopol. Hallie, her daughter (below), is Brandy's Person. Lookin' Good!!

This is Brandy's Story. She was impounded by Lake County Animal Control. Her owner was starving her because he thought a lump on her shoulder was cancer. Meanwhile she ate dirt and ruined her teeth. The bump was only a bump but things did not look good for Brandy....

Morgan up at AC in Lake County fixed her up and gave her to SAFER who took Brandy to a foster up in Lake County. Susan E. cared for her until a home was found in Sebastopol.

That home did not work out. Brandy was not fed right and lost weight. SAFER took her back. She went to live at Jodi Richardson's Stable Acres and was put in training with Jenny Alpin - a SAFER volunteer. They did beautifully. Then an eight year old adopted her and she went to live at a boarding stable in Martinez.

That home did not work out. Even tho Jenny TOLD them she was unsure of herself on a trail - she was rejected when she became afraid the first time out. And it was a tiny little stall and tiny little run even tho SAFER was told she would have a larger turnout. SAFER took her back. When we went to pick her up she had blood running down her back fetlock. "Whatever" said the barn manager....

Hallie and Brandy.

Such a sweet sweet horse.....Brandy can be fearful at times and needs a quiet and confident friend she can trust and rely on. SAFER found a new home right away. Would she find her special person to care about her?

SHE DID!

This is Brandy at her check up. Brandy acted just like a little kid and wanted to show me everything she had and who her friend's were!

She was so excited - she showed me her little house....and her nice little pasture....and her favorite horse friends that were just across the fence. Sometimes she goes over and visits with them and sometimes her favorite gelding comes over and stays with her in her pasture. She loves Hallie - her person - and they ride all over the pastures together.

She ran and bucked and danced around her pasture. She shook her head and pranced. It was clear that she was saying how very happy she was.

She was in beautiful condition and much loved by her family. Thank you so very much Nicole and Hallie. People like you make it all so very worthwhile....and thanks to all the folks who helped her along the way. We all never gave up on sweet Brandy.

My barn....

My foods - I dont have to compete with anybody and that makes all the difference to me!!
