Home from the Escalon Auction: Meet Ladyhawk

Ladyhawk is an 20 yr 16 hand TB who has never raced. She is very sweet and pretty easy to handle. We guess she was broke and ridden at some point. There is no lip tatoo or signs of it's removal so never raced. She clearly had poor nutrition and little of it lately. Her hooves were badly neglected.

She was calm and patient for her exam. She picks up her hooves for you to be cleaned.

She is motherly and has organized everyone into a herd - much to all the horses relief. She is wise too, she knows we are there to help her and the herd.
Here Dr. Bowen and her Vet Assistant Alicia check on her teeth...
we did give her a dental.

Dr. Bowen says she is lame from neglect but when rehabbed could return to light hacking around the farm!

This Sat we did hear back from our vet that watched this video! Ladyhawk is going sound and we will be putting a saddle on her soon. She may be available for light riding!

She is a wise and intelligent mare. I wish I could keep her just to hang out with. The way she gathered up her strength and reassured all the horses around her was simply the epitome of a superior lead mare. She was sore on her neglected hooves but now they are almost all healed. We gave her a dental with Dr. Bowen.

When you adopt from SAFER you really know what you are getting! We do all the vetting, shots, worming, feet and temperment evaluating!

We are looking for just the right home for Ladyhawk! — in .
