We're going WHERE??

Dr Grant Miller - Melody's vet - called us to tell us about a situation that might be good for Melody. We spoke on the phone and called references and it looked like a great forever home for Melody as company to a blind and bereaved gelding on a lovely 3 acre pasture. Thank you so much to Dr. Miller and to Betsy Bueno of Lost Hearts and Souls for providing transportation in a hurry. And thank you to the Hinkly family for giving Melody this chance.

But you never know about horses. This old guy was in GREAT shape - but hadnt been around a dame for quite some time. Would he make the right moves??

Hay Sweetheart - where you been all my life?

Mind Your Manners, Mister !!

You have to admit I am something of a Babe.....

Its great what some food and vitamins and fresh ground flax will do for a horse - even at 27. You can see now what a handsome mare she once was. She has a beautiful floating trot and a prancing canter in spite of her arthritis and ringbone. Her coat is turning a bright shiny penny color with highlights.

Her new owner Diane reports "Boe is a little "puffed" up about having his own mare and it's a side of him we haven't seen before.  He truly is enjoying his new friend and so far all is working out very well.  Again I thank you and Betsy for bringing Melody to us and so quickly so that Boe's trauma in losing Groovey is kept to a minimum."

Melody would like to thank the people who donated money for her rescue and rehabilitation though the SAFER program. She would also like to thank Harvey Sherman for all his daily care while she was regaining her strength during foster.

She is at home now for however long she stays on earth. She is happy and at peace and a wanted horse - a valuable member of her horse and human family.
